This musical duo from Mesa/Gilbert Arizona are bringing the heat everywhere they go.
RaeRae and Ralston “WLFTOWN” Gee formed the group in 2019 hoping to bring together more Filipinos in the state of Arizona. Their multilingual raps, sharp lyrics and melodic hooks captures the listeners ears and ultimately their hearts and minds. Their mission is to propel,inspire,and uplift the Filipino/Filipino American culture through Hip-Hop music and dance.
They have been featured on the WISH USA Bus, MYX Youtube Channel, Phoenix Suns Filipino Heritage Month, Asian Night Markets, and more.
The group has released songs as well as music videos on YouTube throughout the years and are set to debut their new single “FAM” this upcoming spring.
Balisong is currently working on their debut album dropping later this year.
WLFTOWN, is a Filipino American Hip-Hop artist, producer and songwriter from Gilbert,Arizona, who’s lyrics, creativity, and versatility presents a distinction sonically.
With over ten years of experience in composing, writing, producing and engineering, Wlftown’s ability to melodies and arrange music as well write lyrics with substance comes easily and efficiently.
He has been featured on Wish USA with his Hip-Hop group, Balisong Musik, and works with various artists throughout the sync industry. His songs are recently heard on HBO Max’s ‘The Hype’ season 2, Issa Rae’s Rap Sh*t, and have been featured internationally in the Philippines.
RaeRae is a female emcee, hip hop dancer, dance educator and an entrepreneur. She is a member of a well respected underground hip hop collective of artists, called Avenue of the Arts. She is also a part of a duo rap group called Balisong Musik. Her musical style is influenced by the boom bap era, mixed with an unorthodox approach, from her love of alternative music. Being born and raised in the Philippines, she also incorporates her native tongue in her lyricism.
As a dancer, she is an active participant in the freestyle dance battle community and competes nationally and internationally in the choreography scene, with her dance group Jukebox Family. RaeRae and her wife co own an all street style dance studio in Mesa, AZ called The Jukebox Grounds.
She also shares her love and passion for dance and hip hop by teaching at her studio and at Arizona State University.
Her goal is to leave an impact as a powerful and positive representative for women, queer and people of color.
